Repeated facial expressions such as smiling, frowning, or squinting can contribute to the formation of fine lines over time. As the skin naturally ages and loses elasticity, these expression lines may become more noticeable and appear even when the face is at rest.

These lines, often referred to as dynamic wrinkles, develop as a result of repeated muscle movement beneath the skin. With time, the skin’s ability to bounce back decreases, which can lead to the gradual formation of more permanent creases.

Is the treatment painful?

Some say it feels like a small ant bite, or a little pinch, with the discomfort only lasting as long as the medication is being injected. Each injection takes only a few seconds with each area requiring a different number of injections.

When will I start to see the results?

Anti-wrinkle injections will take roughly 6-14 days before you will see full results.

What brand do you use for the wrinkle reduction treatment?

The brand of anti-wrinkle injections that we use cannot be discussed online due to restrictions from the Therapeutic Goods Administration, however, this can be discussed during your initial consultation.

Is it safe to do this treatment whilst breast feeding / or pregnant?

As it is still unclear whether the mediations used for these treatments are transferred through breast milk, or impact an unborn baby during pregnancy, we do not offer anti-wrinkle or dermal filler treatments for these women.

What is the aftercare?

Following your anti-wrinkle treatment, you will feel slight tenderness and swelling at the injection sites. You may also notice some slight bruising to some sites. If you have had treatment to your upper face, you may experience a headache afterwards. This is all normal and should subside over the coming days. Below is a list of post treatment instructions to promote healing.

- Do not touch the treatment sites or massage the area as this can increase the chances of infection and the product spreading to another muscle.

- No strenuous exercise for the next 24 hours.

- No other facial or aesthetic treatments to the area for a minimum of 2 weeks.

- No face down massages for the next 48 hours.

- No active skin care (retinoids / vitamin A / AHA’s) products for 24 hours after treatment.

The product takes 14 days for full effect and it is recommended to attend a review at this time to assess the treatment outcome.

Vertical Lip Lines: As we age we develop “smokers lines” above the lip. These lines occur due to pouting, drinking from a water bottle, kissing over the years and occur in non-smokers as well. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to relax the muscle and prevent deep lines.
Gummy smile: Relaxes the hyperactive muscles responsible for lifting the upper lip, reducing excessive gum exposure.
Downward Turning of the mouth: The corners of the mouth begin to turn down and create a ‘sad’ or ‘grumpy’ appearance. Skin changes, changes in our jaw position and facial movement all contribute to the development of ‘puppet’ or ‘marionette’ lines. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to lessen the downward turning.
Facial Slimming: If you are prone to grinding teeth and clenching your jaw, it often results in the development of a square jaw. This excessive muscular movement causes enlargement of the masseter muscle which contributes to the ‘square-like appearance of the jaw. This is not always the desired look and creating a more angular jaw is considered more feminine. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to reduce the size of this muscle, slimming the jawline and enhancing the lower face.
